DIVIBI- PRINTED IN CANADA Pour les instructions française voir au verso INTRODUCTION The Digital Vision D D series combines a superior performance infrared motion detector with a state-of-the-art microwave detection unit The Digital Vision D D motion detector includes the following unique features - Digital Motion Detection - Digital Shield algorithm software - Digital Dual Opposed Detection D only - Digital Microwave Detection - Digital Auto Pulse Signal Processing Patented - Digital Temperature Compensation WARNING DO NOT TOUCH THE SENSOR SURFACE AS THIS COULD RESULT IN A DETECTOR MALFUNCTION IF NECESSARY CLEAN THE SENSOR SURFACE USING A SOFT CLOTH WITH PURE ALCOHOL JUMPER SETTINGS Paradox Digital Vision D D detectors are equipped with four jumpers used to set the operational modes of the detector In the following instructions jumper settings are refered to as being either ON or OFF Also use the PCB layout drawing FIG- to locate jumpers J - SINGLE OR DUAL EDGE PROCESSING J determines the DSP Digital Signal Processing operational setting for the motion detector ON default In Single edge processing entry and exit signals are added until the value representing an alarm situation is reached OFF In Dual edge processing entry signals are processed separately from exit signals Both have to reach required energy levels before an alarm is generated J - DIGITAL SHIELD SETTING The SHIELD jumper sets several Digital Processing parameters such as - Accumulated energy levels required to generate an alarm - EMI RFI digital ?lter levels - Digital ampli ?er gain ON default This will activate ??Normal Mode ? which should be set when being used in a ??Normal ? Environment OFF In High Shield mode all three parameters mentioned above are automatically set for high-risk environments potential interference J - MICROWAVE SELF-TEST When enabled the detector performs a microwave antenna veri ?cation every minute LED ashes brie y If the antenna veri ?cation fails three consecutive times the detector will ash the red LED see FIG- To reset the trouble mode or consecutive detections are required ON default This enables the Microwave Self Test OFF This disables the Microwave Self Test J - LED SETTING ON default This will enable the red LED OFF This will disable the red LED INSTALLATION Using a Paradox standard lens at the recommended installation height of m ft the Paradox Digital Vision detector will provide full coverage from m ft to m ft without any dead zones FIG- Avoid placing the detector in proximity to the following sources of interference re ective surfaces direct air ow sources of steam oil vapor infrared light sources and objects causing temperature changes Digital Microwave Detection will be hampered if installed close to vibrating metal surfaces rotating fans water ow in plumbing pipes or electromagnetic sources Also note microwave frequencies can penetrate walls therefore avoid installing the unit where it can respond to motion on the other side of the protected area's walls To change the lens choose the desired lens see http www paradox ca and perform
