The intelligent characteristics of the Bosch C3 and C7 battery chargers enable them to charge a variety of battery types:   Wet lead acid (including calcium and calcium-silver)   AGM (absorbent glass mat)   Gel  VRLA / SLA Dual voltage battery capability   C3 - 6 and 12 volt   C7 - 12 and 24 volt 2 Safe and simple to use Simple to use The C3 and C7 battery chargers are designed to make charging simple:   One button operation   The memory function saves the last setting in the case of a power outage or disconnection   Automatic charging – no risk of overcharging   A cable adapter with fuse can be permanently fitted to the battery terminal so that the charger can be easily connected   The C3 comes with a mounting hook for convenient placement of the charger while in use or storage   The C7 comes with a wall mount for convenient placement of the charger while in use or storage Safety first The C3 and C7 ‘standby’ mode, de-energises the battery charger terminals in the following situations:   The terminals are installed incorrectly to the battery   There is an open circuit   The battery voltage is below 7.5V for a 12V battery or 16V for a 24V battery   The battery charging time has exceeded 41 hours   The regeneration process has exceeded 7 hours Overheating protection   The charger will draw less electricity if it becomes excessively hot, protecting it from overheating Safety standards   The C3 and C7 battery chargers meet the IP65 dust and splashproof standards   The C3 and C7 battery chargers are certified to Australian electrical safety standards 3 The Bosch C3: 6 & 12 volt battery charger The C3 is ideal for charging and maintaining lead acid wet, gel, AGM and VRLA / SLA batteries up to 120Ah (12V) / 14Ah (6V). The C3 is a four-stage automatic battery charger with the capability of maintaining a battery and recovering a short-term deeply discharged battery with pulse charging (e.g. the vehicles lights were left on overnight). Trickle charging The charger switches automatically to trickle charging mode when the battery is fully charged. In this mode, a small current is delivered to the battery when necessary to keep the battery fully charged. Pulse charging The charger operates automatically in pulse charging mode to recover a short-term deeply discharged battery (e.g. the vehicles lights were left on overnight). The C7 is a six-stage automatic charger with great extra features including: Regeneration mode can recover deeply discharged batteries with a constant current of 1500ma. Power backup can be used to supply power to the vehicle’s electrical system maintaining the system’s setting whilst charging the battery. It can also be used as a power supply for accessories like a cooler box. In winter, your vehicle requires considerably more electrical energy, which places higher demand on your vehicle’s battery. Additionally, if many comfort and convenience functions have to be supplied and the battery is subjected to particularly high loads on short journeys, your battery will deteriorate. Charging with the C3 or C7 helps avoid premature battery failure. Avoid replacing the battery in your classic car or boat every time you want to use it! Batteries self discharge when not in use. When a battery is in a low stage of charge, sulfation begins to occur on the battery plates. If the battery is left in this state for too long, it will not be able to be recharged. The C3 or C7 deals with this issue using the trickle charge mode.
