The heavily bearded, seventy-something Steve will grace the stage at the Mangawhai Tavern with his personalised guitars and dungarees. The band has cancelled their 2013 tour dates worldwide, including dates scheduled to run in Australia & New Zealand. People who have purchased their tickets either online or over the phone will receive an automatic refund back to the credit card used to make the original purchase. People who have purchased their tickets over the counter should go back to their original point of purchase to obtain a refund. I.D and credit card used to purchase in hand to obtain your refund. Reason for the cancelation was said to be for “personal reasons.” May the Force be with you The Walt Disney Co. announced last Tuesday that it was buying Lucasfilm Ltd. for $4.05 billion and is planning to create a new Star Wars trilogy. The seventh movie is set for release in 2015. Episodes 8 and 9 will follow. The new trilogy will carry the story of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia beyond Return of the Jedi. “For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next,” said Lucas, chairman and CEO of Lucasfilm Ltd. “It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime.” ROOTED IN The full line up for WOMAD 2013 has been revealed. With over 200 acts, international and local, next years festival will be a goody. Some of the acts include Salif Keita, Hugh Masekela, Jimmy Cliff, Goran Bregovic, Jordi Savall, Vieux Farka Touré, Aotearoa National Maori Choir, The Yoots, Fly My Pretties and David Kilgour.
