does not claim to address all of the safety issues associated with the use of the mPDS 2000V3 and samples. It is the responsibility of the user to establish health and safety practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use. • Before using the mPDS 2000V3, read this program description completely. • Anton Paar GmbH only warrants the proper functioning of the mPDS 2000V3 if no unauthorized adjustments have been made to mechanical parts, electronic parts and software, and the following points are adhered to. • Follow all hints, warnings and instructions in the program description to ensure the correct and safe functioning of the mPDS 2000V3. • Do not use the mPDS 2000V3 for any purpose other than described in the program description. Anton Paar GmbH is not liable for damages caused by incorrect use of the mPDS 2000V3. • Do not use any accessories other than those supplied or approved by Anton Paar GmbH. • The installation procedure should only be carried out by authorized personnel who are familiar with the installation instructions. • Do not operate the mPDS 2000V3 if a malfunction is suspected, or damages, injuries or loss of life cannot be excluded under all circumstances. • The mPDS 2000V3 is not an explosion-proof instrument and therefore must not be operated in areas where there is a risk of explosion. • Service and/or maintenance procedures which involve removing outside covers and working with the power switched on may only be performed by authorized service personnel. • Ensure that all operators are fully trained to use the mPDS 2000V3 correctly and safely. • Due to the nature of the measurement, the measuring results not only depend on the correct use and functioning of the mPDS 2000V3, but may also be influenced by other factors. We therefore recommend that the analysis results are plausibility tested before consequential actions are taken. • Repair and service procedures may only be carried out by authorized personnel or by Anton Paar GmbH. 1 Safety Instructions 8 A90IB14 • The Anton Paar transducers used in process are often exposed to extreme working conditions such as shock pressure, sudden changes in temperature, aggressive samples, etc. which may cause drifts or failure. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to periodically check the measured results and readjust the transducers if necessary. • When connecting an intrinsically safe DPR(n)/SPRn transducer, use the IPS 501 from Anton Paar between the hazardous and safe area. • Dispose of the mPDS 2000V3 according to the country-specific legal requirements. Do not touch areas marked with this symbol (yellow) when the power is turned on. 2 Symbols in the Program Description A90IB14 9 2 Symbols in the Program Description The following symbols are used in the program description: Warning: The "Warning" sign indicates a hazard. It calls attention to an operating procedure, practice, etc. which, if not correctly performed or adhered to, could result in injury or loss of life. Do not proceed beyond a "Warning" sign until the indicated conditions are fully understood and met. Important: The "Important" sign indicates a hazard. It calls attention to an operating procedure, practice, etc. which, if not correctly performed or adhered to, could result in damage or destruction of the instrument or parts of it. Hint: The "Hint" sign calls attention to any additional information which might be of use to the operator. 3 Operating Instructions Overview 10 A90IB14 3 Operating Instructions Overview This manual contains the program description for the application program Beverages (COBRIX, CARBO... Programs). Keypad functions: Keypad functions in the measuring window: • "Ö" : - To move to the warning window. • "Õ": - To move to the service window (Time, Date, Period, Temp, …). • "E" : - To move to the main menu. Keypad functions for navigation through the menus: • "Õ" and "Ö": - To move from one menu item to the next in the same menu level. • "×" : - To scroll a number or input character. - To escape the current menu. • "Ø" : - To scroll a number or input character. - To change immediately to the measuring window. • "E" : - To select a particular menu item. Auto repeat: If you press one of the 4 keys and hold it, the key function is repeated automatically. This can be used for a quick change of the selected menu or a quick change of a digit or letter, for example. The auto repeat rate is about 2 counts per second. Hint: For detailed information about the mPDS 2000V3 see mPDS 2000V3 instruction manual. 3 Operating Instructions Overview A90IB14 11 Reset: • If the mPDS 2000V3 has to be reset (e.g. if the power cannot be switched off) press "Õ", "×" and "Ö" simultaneously. This has the same effect as switching the power off and on. • After the reset the mPDS 2000V3 is locked. Special keypad functions for changing numbers: To change numerical values, press "Õ" or "Ö" to select the position of the cursor and then press "×" or "Ø" to increase or decrease the value of the digit or to change the sign (+, -) above the cursor. Changing the display contrast: To change the display contrast, press "Ö" and "×" simultaneously to lower and "Ö" and "Ø" simultaneously to raise the illumination. After a change, press "Õ" to save the display contrast settings. How to unlock the mPDS 2000V3 if it is locked: 1. Select the main menu by pressing "E". 2.
